Strip Takeoff Kit
This policy explains how this application handles information and how to contact us about privacy.
Information we process
Strip Takeoff Kit stores project names, room names, room dimensions, rectangular cutouts, doorway positions, material widths, layout directions, seam adjustments, variants and calculated summaries on your iPhone in a local SQLite database. For synchronization, the same project documents are stored in PostgreSQL on our Railway-hosted service. The app generates a random installation secret in the iPhone Keychain; the server stores a SHA-256 hash of that secret to separate each installation's records. The service receives network requests and associated technical information such as IP addresses and request headers through Railway infrastructure. The app does not request your name, email address, account credentials, location or contacts.
How we use information
We use project and room data to calculate flooring strip layouts, waste, reserve and PDF reports, to reopen your work offline, and to synchronize your projects when a network connection is available. The installation secret authenticates access to your own server records. Technical request information is processed to deliver and protect the service and diagnose failures.
Service providers and sharing
Railway hosts the application service, PostgreSQL database and infrastructure that processes requests and operational logs. We do not include analytics, advertising, email delivery or social sign-in SDKs. The iOS Share Sheet sends an exported PDF only to destinations you choose; those destinations then govern their own handling of the file. We do not sell project data.
Data retention
Local projects remain on this iPhone until you delete them or remove the app. Server project records remain while this installation uses synchronization. Deleting all data in Settings removes local projects immediately and requests deletion of this installation's server records when online; offline deletion is queued until connectivity returns. Railway-managed backups and infrastructure logs may persist under Railway's applicable operational retention settings, which we do not control or state as a fixed duration. An exported PDF remains wherever you saved or shared it until you remove it there.
Deleting your information
Use Settings > Delete all my data to remove local project records and request deletion of all project records associated with this installation secret from the server. Individual projects can be deleted in the app. If offline, the server deletion is queued and will run after the app reconnects. Removing the app deletes its local project database; it may not delete the Keychain secret or server records. If the installation secret is lost, the server records cannot be recovered or identified through an account. Contact the privacy address below for questions about residual server data, backups or logs; we may need information sufficient to identify the relevant installation and cannot promise identification without the secret.
Permissions and your choices
The app requires no location, camera, contacts, microphone or notification permission. You can stop synchronization by using the app offline or by disabling its network access where iOS provides that control. Revoking network access does not remove already synchronized server data; use the deletion control when online. The iOS Share Sheet is invoked only when you choose to export a PDF.
Your privacy rights
You can view, edit and delete projects in the app and export a PDF copy. For privacy questions or requests, contact Taliesin6Davenant@icloud.com. We will assess requests using information reasonably available for the installation; there is no account identity or automatic recovery service.
Security
The server checks a random installation secret for private project requests and stores only its SHA-256 hash. The secret is stored in the iPhone Keychain and is not embedded as a shared app credential. App-to-service traffic uses HTTPS. Railway hosts the service and database. No system can guarantee absolute security; keep access to your iPhone protected because the installation secret controls access to synchronized records.
Children’s privacy
Strip Takeoff Kit is intended for professional flooring installers, site managers, purchasers and designers. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly seek children's personal information. If you believe a child has supplied information, contact Taliesin6Davenant@icloud.com.
Changes to this policy
